particularities
A special feature of the vehicle are the permanently mounted adhesive weights under the platform and the built-on crane type 174 Elefant from the manufacturer Hiab, now Cargotec . The winch built behind the cabin was used to tow damaged battle tanks onto the 50-ton Arpa low-loader. Over 50 of this tractor unit were built for the Austrian Armed Forces.

Special motor vehicle, three-axle, open, flatbed with foldable side walls, two permanently mounted ITAG cable winches, loading crane behind closed 6-seater (two in front, four in rear) driver's cab.
The vehicle has all-wheel drive (front-wheel drive can be switched off) with four differentials; Furthermore, you can choose between an off-road aisle and a street aisle, i. This means that 2 × 6 gears forwards and 2 × 1 gear backwards are available via the AK-6-70 / 2 gearbox.
The braking system consists of a three-circuit system:
- lockable manual internal shoe brake, acts mechanically on the transfer case shaft,
 - Inner foot brake, acts on all six wheels (compressed air),
 - Engine brake type Daimler-Benz and compressed air connection for trailers at the rear and for maneuvering at the front of the vehicle

Whereabouts
A ZAFD 230/36 with the chassis number 68 146 or the number plate BH 82005 or 83318 assigned at the time is owned by a private collector in Lower Austria and is being restored. It is a vehicle that was last used by the Tyrolean entrepreneur Paul Stöckl in the street cleaning and truck rescue service.
