The ITAG Group is an international service company for various services in connection with the exploration and production of crude oil , natural gas and geothermal energy , based in Celle .
history
The drilling company ITAG was founded in 1912 by the entrepreneur Hermann von Rautenkranz in Hamburg as the "International Deep Drilling Company ". A year later this company was relocated to Celle and has since combined deep drilling , oil production and mechanical engineering in one family business.
From 1987 to 1994 ITAG participated in the continental deep drilling program of the Federal Republic of Germany in Windischeschenbach , currently the deepest existing well in the world.
In 1994 the founding family von Rautenkranz withdrew from the company.
In 2001 the Arabian International Petroleum Corporation (AIPC) , a company owned by Qatari businessman Dr. Jaber A. Al Marri, around 90% of the ITAG group.
Business areas
The business area with the highest turnover in the group is ITAG Tiefbohr GmbH with around 300 employees. With its eight drilling rigs, it sinks deep wells in Western Europe for the oil and natural gas industry, carries out drilling operations, realizes underground gas storage facilities and is active in the field of geothermal energy.
The machine factory ITAG Valves & Oilfields Products GmbH with 120 employees develops, produces and sells equipment for the oil and gas industry.
The ITAG L & R GmbH up with around 65 employees, produces about 30 m long, round precision parts and special threads for the machinery , shipbuilding and plant construction as well as for railway waves and high-pressure pipes.
The holding company Hermann von Rautenkranz International Tiefbohr GmbH and Co. KG is dedicated to the promotion of oil and gas.
The Austrian Drilling & Production Services GmbH is a service provider for the oil and gas industry in Austria and has two drilling rigs.
