Grégory Leca (born August 22, 1980 in Metz ) is a former French football player .

Career

As a child, Leca started playing for Metz from his hometown. In 2000 he moved up to the first team and made his debut for this as a 20-year-old on September 30 of the same year in the first division when he was substituted on in the 0-1 against SC Bastia in the 61st minute. From then on he ran regularly for the team with whom he relegated to the second division in 2002 and achieved direct promotion a year later. After this he became a regular player. Although he was planned for the 2005/06 season in the squad of FC Metz, but he decided at the end of August and thus just before the end of the transfer period to move to SM Caen . Nothing is known about the amount of a possible transfer fee.

He was also one of the regulars at Caen, albeit not as undisputed as it was recently in Metz. With the team, Leca managed to jump into the second division in 2007 and after relegation in 2009, the direct resurgence in 2010. When his contract expired in 2011, he received several offers, including one from first division club AS Nancy . However, he decided to stay with Caen, with whom he was relegated to the second division in 2012. After relegation, he no longer played an essential role in the team. At the end of the 2012/13 season, his contract was not renewed after eight years in Caen. The then 32-year-old was available to second division rivals AC Arles-Avignon for a test phase in July 2013, but was not accepted into the squad and then ended his professional career. In total, he had come to 204 first division games with four goals and 110 second division games with two goals.

National team

Leca never made it into the French selection, but was invited to the unofficial Corsican regional selection in June 2009 and was used in an encounter against the Republic of the Congo ; however, there were no other appointments to the team.
