Green educational workshop

The Green Education Workshop (GBW) is the political educational institution of the Austrian party The Greens - The Green Alternative .

As an association, the GBW is organized on a decentralized basis, it consists of ten federal state associations (the tenth state stands for the Austrian minorities), which elect the federal board from among their ranks every two years. The seat is in Vienna.

The Green Education Workshop assumes that “the world is not just by chance the way it is”, but that the environment is constantly being rebuilt, designed and changed by people. It therefore deals with the effects of this permanent transformation on the social , ecological and economic foundations of people. For this purpose, the GBW promotes political education , finances and organizes various events ( panel discussions , seminars, etc.) on political topics and publishes books and brochures.

history

On May 3, 1987, the Green Education Workshop (Bildungsakademie der Grünen Alternative) was set up on the Nonntal cultural site in Salzburg in a constituent general assembly . The first federal chairman was the Grödinger municipal council and later member of the state parliament Christian Burtscher . In addition to the federal organization, ten state associations of the Green Educational Workshop are founded (nine federal states plus ethnic minorities ).
