Green elephant ( Russian зелёный слон ) is a greenish medicinal oil from Vietnam . The essential oil with a fresh aromatic smell is still a popular remedy for all kinds of ailments in the countries of the former Soviet Union .

It consists of camphor , wild mint and eucalyptus , among other things ; is free from preservatives and coloring agents and has an antiseptic effect due to its ingredients .

Green elephant is used for colds, nasal congestion, flu , earache, sore throat, angina , hip pain, osteoarthritis , heart pain, muscle pain, strains, insect bites and stings, facial nerve pain and chronic skin diseases. The agent is rubbed in at specified acupuncture points and areas to match the disease .
