Green stability

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Green strength is the property of the Green concrete to be so stable that the lateral (and optionally the roof formwork) can be removed without changing the geometric shape changes.

The green stability is therefore the stability of the concrete immediately after compaction. This property is essential in the manufacture of certain precast concrete parts that are to be demoulded immediately after the concrete has been poured and compacted, as well as when using sliding formwork .

The green stability comes about primarily through the adhesion of the water film with the solid components of the concrete. A measure of the green strength is the green pressure strength . This is essentially dependent on:

  • Water content,
  • Cement content and
  • Compression energy.
