geography
The Gradenbach flows in the Kemet Mountains from the Ahornsee , west of the Stoderzinken , towards the Enns like a gorge . At the foot of the Kemet Mountains, directly at the Gradenbach hunting lodge, it falls over several steps with a total height of around 140 m and forms the Gradenbach Falls.
The lowest section has been designated as a natural monument over a length of 65 meters since 1990 ( NDM.813 , nature conservation book: St-GB-034 / Aich), with 1344 m². The monument is located in the buffer zone of the UNESCO World Heritage area of cultural landscape Hallstatt – Dachstein / Salzkammergut and in the landscape protection area Dachstein – Salzkammergut ( Salzkammergut-Ost , LS 14a ).
The waterfall can be reached on the hiking trail from Sonnberg to the Dachstein plateau, which follows the course of the stream.
