The historic house at Graf-Otto-Straße 38 is a listed residential building and farm and is located in the Quadrath-Ichendorf district in the district town of Bergheim in the Rhein-Erft district .

history

Farmer Johann Kurth and his wife Agnes Glasmacher built the property at the beginning of the 19th century. It still belongs to their descendants today. It was the last farm in Quadrath until it was abandoned a few decades ago. Therefore, in relation to the history of the city, the building is also called "The Last Farm".

architecture

The house is a two-storey plastered half-timbered house with a half- hipped roof . It has three wooden shutters on the upper floor and four in the basement facing the street. The house is part of a rectangular courtyard. A gate adjoins the half-timbered house.

The house is entered in the list of architectural monuments in Quadrath-Ichendorf under No. 218 . The entry has the following text:

Half-timbered house including the gate building on the left; two-storey half-timbered house, completely plastered with a half-hipped roof, facing the street on the eaves, occupying one side of the square of a small courtyard; Windows with rebated block frames and timber shutters in an irregular arrangement, four openings on the ground floor and three openings on the upper floor; higher, rectangular central entrance, offset, solid base; Exposed gable biaxial, adjoining brick farm building on one side with a wide rectangular passage.
