NGC 2654 is a bar-spiral galaxy in the constellation Great Bear . It is an estimated 63 million light years from the Milky Way . The galaxy was discovered on August 18, 1882 by the astronomer Ernst Wilhelm Leberecht Tempel with a 28 cm telescope.
