NGC 2662 is an elliptical galaxy from the Hubble type E1 in the constellation Hydra south of the ecliptic . It is an estimated 168 million light years from the Milky Way and about 60,000 light years across.
The galaxy IC 2403 is located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered on March 16, 1836 by John Herschel .
