NGC 2647 is a compact galaxy of Hubble type C in the constellation Cancer on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 733 million light years from the Milky Way and about 175,000 light years across.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 2625 , NGC 2637 , NGC 2643 , IC 2388 .
The object was discovered by Albert Marth on October 30, 1864 .
