The Count Metternich sources Karl Schöttker KG is a medium-sized German companies in the mineral water - and drink industry Vinsebeck , City Steinheim in Höxter district in North Rhine-Westphalia .
The company is a regional manufacturer that sells its products within a radius of around 100 kilometers in the East Westphalia-Lippe region , Weserbergland , southern Lower Saxony . The waters are bottled and sold exclusively in returnable glass bottles.
history
The company was originally founded in 1904 by the Vinsebeck landlord, Fritz Graf Wolff-Metternich , who tapped the artesian springs that had hitherto been economically unused and set up the first business premises. The first commercial bottlings took place a year later in 1905.
After the death of the count in 1927, his nephew Reichsgraf Wolfgang Wolff-Metternich took over the management of the company, which also included the count's agricultural estate at Vinsebeck Castle . Metternich sought to outsource the business and leased it in 1930 to the Lemgo-based spirits manufacturer Karl Schöttker GmbH & Co. KG , represented by the owner Karl Schöttker . Schöttker founded a GmbH with three other investors from Lemgo and invested in the operational infrastructure; he renewed the production technology and source versions. In 1939 Schöttker took over sole management of the company, as the partners did not want to support further investments and Schöttker therefore paid out their shares. The administrative headquarters were located in Lemgo, the well operation operated under the official name "Reichsgräflich Wolff-Metternich'sche Mineralquellen, Vinsebeck Karl Schöttker, Lemgo in Lippe" .
In the 1950s, investments were made in the first fully automatic filling line. In 1967 the lease agreements between Wolff-Metternich and Karl Schöttker KG were newly regulated and extended. Schöttker then invested in the new construction of the company building with new filling systems, and Schöttker also relocated the company headquarters from Lemgo to the then still independent municipality of Vinsebeck, which is now a district of the city of Steinheim. The GmbH was converted into a KG and Karl Schöttker personally withdrew from the management in order to concentrate on the Lemgo operation and wholesaling.
In 1997 Sofia, the wife of Karl Schöttker, died. As a result, he withdrew as a limited partner from the company, so that the capital shares and the company had to be reorganized. Andreas Schöttker joined the company and took over the shares from Karl and Sofia Schöttker.
