The Grafenberger Wald is a forest area belonging to the city of Düsseldorf . It is part of the Düsseldorf city forest .

The Grafenberg Forest has a size of about 100 hectares .

location

The Grafenberger Wald is located in the northeast of the Düsseldorf city area. Most of the forest is in the Ludenberg district . The Grafenberger Wald is bounded in the west by the Düsseldorf district Grafenberg , in the north by the Aaper forest and in the southeast by the district Gerresheim . The Grafenberg wildlife park also belongs to the forest area . Among other things, the famous Kastanienallee separates it from Aaper Wald.

The Grafenberg Forest is characterized by a diverse mixed deciduous forest . English oak and beech are predominant. Maple, locust, ash, birch and chestnut can also be found.
