Granville Charles Gomer Gordon, 13th Marquess of Huntly (born February 4, 1944 ) is a British peer and politician of the Conservative Party .

life and career

He is the son of Douglas Gordon, 12th Marquess of Huntly from his marriage to the Hon. Mary Pamela, daughter of James Berry, 1st Viscount Kemsley . As his marriage apparently he led under the courtesy title Earl of Aboyne until 1987 . He attended the Gordonstoun School .

He is patron ( saint ) of the Institute of Commercial Management , Chairman ( Chairman ) of Cock of the North Liqueur Co Ltd and director of Ampton Investments Ltd .

Membership in the House of Lords

When his father died in 1987, he inherited his title of nobility. He has since also served as Chief of Clan Gordon and Premier Marquess of Scotland .

A seat in the House of Lords was associated with the titles at that time . There he first took part in a meeting on January 13, 1988. He gave his inaugural address on March 16, 1988 on the subject of business education . He spoke up only sporadically in the following years. He talked about the Scottish economy, Hong Kong and southern China . Most recently in 1994 he spoke to the State Hospitals (Scotland) Bill [HL] several times . He lost his seat through the House of Lords Act 1999 . He had not run for election for any of the remaining seats. He is listed in the Register of Hereditary Peers and is currently not a member of the Hereditary Peerage Association .

Marriages and offspring

He married Jane Elizabeth Angela in 1972, the daughter of Alistair Monteith Gibb. They have a son, Alastair Gordon, Earl of Aboyne (* 1973), and two daughters. The marriage ended in divorce in 1990.

In 1991 he married Catheryn Kindersley, a great-granddaughter of 1st Baron Kindersley and divorced ex-wife of Robert Millbourne. You have a daughter.
