European Grappling Championships

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The European Grappling Championships were held for the first time in 2010 by FILA , the international wrestling federation. A distinction is made between the two styles No-Gi and Gi. This is a differentiation of the combat clothing. In No-Gi-Grappling the fighters wear shorts and a shirt, in the Gi category they fight in the appropriate combat suit ( Keikogi ). The first world championships in grappling took place back in 2008 . At the 2010 European Championship premiere in Gorlice (Poland), there was a competition in a full contact (combat) variant for the first time in a championship held by the FILA, in addition to Gi and No-Gi.
