Mountains of grass
In landscape geography, mountains with grass-like vegetation that is typical of the region and that develop particularly well on sedimentary rock are referred to as grass mountains . The term is mainly used for some mountain groups in the Eastern Alps , namely
- the Allgäu Alps (Bavaria / Tyrol),
- the Kitzbühel Alps (Salzburg / Tyrol) and
- the Dientener Berge (Salzburg).
A special form of climbing, grass climbing, is used to move along steep slopes of grass mountains .
