The Grassalkovich de Gyaraki princes are among the most important Hungarian noble families .
history
The family is of Croatian descent and was first raised to the nobility by Emperor Rudolf II on September 20, 1584. From a political point of view, the reputation of the sex rose very quickly and it was later given the dignity of a prince .
The family owes its reputation to the ancient Deméndi de Theszéri family , to whose descendants they belonged. The family died out in the male line. It is related to the noble families Esterházy , Ürmenyi, Egresdy and Beleznay.
