Gratien Maire

Gratien Maire (born November 19, 1957 in Chaumont , Haute-Marne ) is a French general in the Air Force.

Life

Gratien Maire entered the École de l'air military school in 1978 . In 1981 he became a licensed fighter pilot.

In 1982 he was assigned to the 33rd Reconnaissance Squadron in Strasbourg. In 1988 he went to the military school responsible for the transportation of students.

Between 1991 and 1993 he commanded the Normandy-Nyemen Fighter Squadron .

In 1996 he was sent to the United States Air Force Warfare School in Montgomery.

He then held several positions in army supervision and on the air force staff.

From July 2000 to July 2003, he was Distribution Attaché in Canada .

From 2006 to 2008 he directed the École de l'air in Salon de Provence.

In 2008 he became a US Defense Attache. 2011 became Deputy Inspector General of the Army. In 2012 he became Deputy Chief of Staff.

On January 15, 2014, he was appointed major general in the Army from February 15. At the same time he was promoted to General in the Air Force. He succeeded General Pierre de Villiers and was replaced by Admiral Philippe Coindreau on September 1, 2016.

Since January 9, 2017, he has been CEO of ADP Ingénierie (Groupe Aéroports de Paris).

Private

Maire is married and has three children.
