Engraving system

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The engraving system is the heart of a Klischograph for the production of forms for gravure printing . It consists of signal generation and processing, a power amplifier and an electromagnetic vibration drive, the engraving head. This system drives a diamond burin , which cuts small structures (cells) into a copper cylinder.

Normal engraving systems work at a speed of 4000 cells per second and generate a stylus movement of up to ± 65 micrometers. Modern high-performance engraving systems, such as B. HelioSprint, work at twice the speed. This means that the tip of the stylus reaches an acceleration of around 6000 times the acceleration due to gravity. Engraving heads are therefore the fastest electromagnetic drives.
