The Grazer Zeitung is an Austrian weekly newspaper that has been published in Graz since 1787 . It is the official gazette of the Province of Styria . From 1787 to 1866 it was called the Grätzer Zeitung .

Grätzer Zeitung

The Grätzer Zeitung (initially also Grazer Zeitung ) appeared in Graz from 1787 to 1866 and was initially published four times a week, later daily and finally even twice a day. As a secondary title, it occasionally had the addition of Morgen- & Abendblatt along with an official journal . The Gräzer Bürgerzeitung and Der Steyrische Biedermann were absorbed in it . As supplements to the newspaper, the Steyermärkische intelligence papers for the Grätzer Zeitung , Der Aufmerksame , the Steyermärkische Gazette for the Grätzer Zeitung , Stiria and the Der Volksfreund appeared .

Grazer Zeitung

The Grazer Zeitung has the sub-title Official Journal for the State of Styria and has been published weekly under this title since 1867. The constant publication was interrupted from the 154th edition in 1938, the 155th edition did not appear until 1959. Until 1938 it had the secondary title Als official announcement sheet for Styria . The ordinance and official gazette for the state of Styria was included in the Grazer Zeitung , while the Steyermärkische gazette for the Grazer Zeitung and the Grazer Morgenpost appeared as supplements .

Setting the printed output

The Grazer Zeitung no longer contained an editorial section in its last years, but only consisted of official announcements and publications according to public procurement law. Since the public procurement obligation was replaced by an electronic form at www.data.gv.at on March 1, 2019 ( Section 66 BVergG), there was no longer any obligation to publish certain data from an award procedure in print media. This also eliminated a major source of funding for the newspaper.

Since July 2019, the Grazer Zeitung has only been published in digital form at the previous web address www.grazerzeitung.at; it is accessible free of charge.
