Great Magazine of Timepieces or GMT is a Swiss magazine that has been specializing in watches since 2000 . The editor-in-chief is Brice Lechevalier.

The magazine is a customer magazine that appears four times a year in two bilingual versions (French / English and German / English). In addition, two special editions will be issued. GMT can be purchased individually at the kiosk. It is also distributed free of charge.

It is published by GMT Publishing, which is owned by Edipresse and Brice Lechevalier. The GMT has been certified by WEMF since 2013 . The 2018 edition was therefore 24,624 copies.

history

In 2000, the first edition of the GMT was presented at Baselworld , the world's largest watch fair.

Since it was launched in 2000, Swiss subscribers to the Financial Times have received all GMT editions.

In 2002 GMT was first published abroad, in the form of GMT Belux (Belgium-Luxembourg). Numerous international editions followed later. In 2007 the founders decided to sell their shares while continuing to be involved in the publication of the magazine.

In 2009, Pierre Jacques left the company. In 2012 Brice Lechevalier became a GMT shareholder again, on an equal footing with the Lamunière family, owners of the Edipresse group.

GMT has been the official publisher of the catalog for the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève since 2012. In 2014 GMT and two other media became part of GMT Publishing Sàrl. summarized. In 2016 GMT Middle East was founded through a franchise with Fadi Jamil from Dubai. GMT Africa has been published in cooperation with the Hole19 Group from Nigeria since 2019.

Special editions

GMT Lady & Jewelery is a magazine that deals exclusively with women's watches and the art of jewelery.

The GMT XXL World magazine, founded in 2013, is the international version of GMT. It is published in English with 100,000 copies and distributed in over 80 countries. It is launched every year at the same time as the Monaco Yacht Show. The magazine is also distributed from September to May at all major watch fairs, some sporting events or jet set events.

Since 2002, GMT has also been issuing the XXL format in various countries such as Russia, Ukraine, USA, France and the Benelux countries.
