Great Marlow Railway

The Great Marlow Railway was a British railway company based in Buckinghamshire , England .

The company founded by local businessmen received the concession on July 13, 1868 to build a 4.5 kilometer long railway line from Bourne End to Marlow . In Bourne End there is a transition to the railway line High Wycombe Maidenhead of the Wycombe Railway . The Great Marlow Railway received financial support from the Great Western Railway and opened on June 28, 1873. The operation was opened by the GWR. A planned continuation of the line to Henley-on-Thames failed due to local resistance. On August 6, 1897, the Great Marlow Railway merged into the GWR.
