Greed (band)
Greed is a band that was founded in 1995 by Frank Altpeter (vocals, guitar), Michael Bruss (bass), Kai Kessler (drums) and Kay Regitz (guitar, backing vocals) in Illingen (Saar). The initial sound was strongly influenced by 80s guitar rock à la The Smiths , but the musical spectrum clearly extended into an alternative-heavy, heavier corner. Timo Brück (keyboard, samplers) completed the band in 1997. In 1999 the third self-produced album Super was released, which sold out quickly and, compared to the previous releases I'm Eating My Head (1997) and Famous (1998), presented a much harder, more adult pace, without, however, denying the melodic roots.
The intensive concert activity, also with nationally known bands such as Such a Surge and Cultured Pearls , brought a certain local awareness. The band was disbanded in 2003.
Since November 2008 Greed have been rehearsing with the original line-up.
