Hornstull is an underground station on the Stockholm Metro . It is located in the Södermalm district . The station is served by the Röda linjen of the Stockholm metro system . The central location in the city center makes the station one of the most frequented stations on the underground network. On a normal working day, 16,000 commuters get on here.
The station was put into operation on April 5, 1964, when the first section of the Röda linjen between T-Centralen and Fruängen or Örnsberg was inaugurated. The station was built using the cut-and-cover method. The station is located between the Liljeholmen and Zinkensdamm stations . It is around 3 km to Stockholm Central Station .
