The Green European Foundation (GEF) is a political foundation at European level that is financed by the European Parliament . The foundation is closely associated with the European Green Party . However, it sets its own content priorities.
The GEF is based in Luxembourg City. There is an office in Brussels. The organization tries to reach as many people as possible in Europe. In 2011 the GEF organized 41 events in 32 different cities in almost all European countries.
mission
In 2008, the predecessor institution , the Green European Institute, was founded. The GEF organizes political debates and political education on core issues of green politics in Europe and functions as a European network of national green foundations.
structure
Three groups of actors send delegates to the GEF General Assembly, which meets twice a year to elect the GEF Board of Directors:
- national green political foundations from across Europe
