Greg Koch (born June 23, 1966 in Milwaukee , Wisconsin ) is an American electric guitarist who is famous for his eccentric guitar style, which consists of a mixture of blues, rock, funk, country and jazz elements, and for his own solo Projects is known.

Life

The passion for Jimi Hendrix brought Koch to the electric guitar at the age of 12 and he began to play songs from records, radio and television. He later founded the band Greg Koch & the Tone Controls , with which he celebrated first successes in Milwaukee and the surrounding area. The final breakthrough came in 2001 when Koch released The Grip on Steve Vai's record label Favored Nations . Koch has also recorded television and radio jingles and has contributed to many guitar publications. His ability as a musician to cover an enormous stylistic variety on the guitar earned him the attention of the musical instrument maker Fender , on whose behalf Koch gives many guitar clinics. He has published several instructional videos over the years. Koch is known for his comical appearances, which are characterized, among other things, by clowning on stage, commenting facial expressions and many musical quotes . Furthermore, as Steve Vai already praised, the ease with which he combines musical styles is remarkable.
