Gregor Linke

Gregor Willi Linke (born September 29, 1977 in Cologne ) is a former German basketball player . During his career, the 2.02 meter tall winger was under contract with Bundesliga clubs Rhein Energie Köln and TuS Jena as well as with Austrian Bundesliga club BSC Raiffeisen Panthers Fürstenfeld .

Career

Linke began his basketball club career at DJK Köln-Nord , played for the club in the regional league and was appointed to the U18 national team, with which he took part in the European Championship in 1994. In 1997 he moved to the second division team ETB Schwarz-Weiß Essen for a year and then returned to Cologne, where he played for the Cologne 99ers. In 2001 the club received a Bundesliga license and was renamed Rhein Energy Cologne. Linke received a place in the Bundesliga squad, played in Germany's top division and in the European Cup ( NEBL and ULEB Cup ), but always remained a supplementary player. At the beginning of the 2003/04 season he made a detour to the Austrian Bundesliga club BSC Raiffeisen Panthers Fürstenfeld, but moved back to Cologne in December 2003 and won the DBB Cup with the team in 2004.

For the 2004/05 season Linke accepted an offer from the second division club TuS Jena, where he immediately became a top performer and stayed until the end of the 2008/09 season. He spent one season (2007/08) with Jena in the Bundesliga after they had been promoted in the previous season. After leaving Jena, he let his basketball career come to an end with MTV Cologne .
