Gregor Tessnow

Gregor Tessnow (* 1969 in Berlin ) is a German author of literature for young people who became known, among other things, with the novel Knallhart . Together with Zoran Drvenkar he wrote the screenplay for the film of the same name Knallhart .

Life

Tessnow was born in West Berlin. He grew up in West Berlin and attended grammar school there up to 7th grade, after which he graduated from secondary school. He then did an apprenticeship as a bricklayer , made up his technical diploma and began to study civil engineering. Tessnow dropped out of this course in the fourth semester. At the same time he met the writer Zoran Drvenkar and the two decided to pool their finances. Drvenkar had not published anything until then, but had received a first writer's grant. Tessnow lived for a time on Drvenkar's scholarships, but also worked for many years as a taxi driver and thereby supported Drvenkar financially. Together, Tessnow and Drvenkar published the novel When the Ball to the Sun Gets Out and wrote the screenplay for the film Knallhart .
