Gremislawa, Princess of Krakow

Gremislawa Ingvarewna of Lutsk , * probably between 1185 and 1195, † probably on November 8, 1258 , was a princess of Krakow and the daughter of Ingvar of Kiev , the grand duke of Kiev and prince of Lutsk from the noble family of the Rurikids .

1207 married Gremislawa Leszek the white , the prince of Cracow. This marriage was part of Leszek's declared policy of eastward expansion. After her husband's murder on November 24, 1227, she became regent on behalf of her underage son, Bolesław the Shame . Even after he came of age, his mother still exerted considerable influence in the government. Gremislawa had close contacts with the Franciscan monastery in Zawichost , of which she was the founder. She probably died on November 8, 1258 and was probably buried in the Franciscan monastery in Zawichost.

There are different opinions about Gremislawa's origin. Some historians say that Leszek the White in 1207 or 1208, the daughter of Ingvar of Kiev, whose name is not known, married, and he later married from 1208 to 1211, Gremislawa, presumably the daughter of Yaroslav of Kiev to have been .
