Grind (ger .: to grind = "grind", "slip") is a technical term from the skateboard - and the Aggressive Inline scene, which is now in the BMX is used scene.

In skateboarding, it describes sliding along with two or only one axis of a skateboard on a rail or curb . A distinction is made between different variations depending on the alignment of the board to the edge and the axis used (50-50, 5-0, Nosegrind, K-Grind, Saladgrind, Smithgrind etc.). If you don't slide on the axes but on the board, this is called a slide .

There are also so-called grind shoes, which are provided with a grind sole in the arch of the foot and allow grinding on stone and metal edges, for example in inner-city areas.
