Great Bavarian Biographical Encyclopedia

The Great Bavarian Biographical Encyclopedia is a multi-volume reference work with biographies on personalities who have worked in Bavaria . The encyclopedia , published in four volumes in 2005 and edited by Hans-Michael Körner with the collaboration of Bruno Jahn, is based on the German Biographical Encyclopedia (DBE) previously edited by Walther Killy and Rudolf Vierhaus .

The work published by KG Saur Verlag near Munich with the citation form BBE and the ISBN 978-3-598-11730-5 as well as the ISBN 3-598-11730-2 belongs to the "List of technical reference works for the common authority file ."

The BBE is also published as an online edition by De Gruyter .
