Great Synagogue (Auschwitz)

The Great Synagogue in Auschwitz ( Oświęcim in Polish ), a Polish city in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship in the southern part of the country, was built from 1863 to 1873.
history
At the end of the 19th century, the synagogue was enlarged under the direction of the architect Karl Korn . Now there were around 2000 seats for the worshipers .
The synagogue was opened on 29./30. Destroyed November 1939 by the German occupiers during the Second World War.
