A large field keyboard is a keyboard that is especially suitable for people who cannot use a conventional keyboard due to motor restrictions and coordination problems.

In addition to larger keys (19–25 mm), a large-field keyboard is also characterized by a key spacing that is larger than the standard size of 19 mm (center-center) (around 25 to 35 mm), often also by freely configurable pressure levels and times. In many large-field keyboards, the keys are recessed in circular holes in a template, which prevents the hand trembling from pressing several keys at the same time. The finger or a handheld device for pressing can be “locked” onto a key.

It is also possible to lock function keys such as Ctrl , Alt or Shift so that the keyboard can be operated with one hand.

Large font keyboards are suitable for people with visual impairment .
