Grand Ducal Office
The former grand ducal office in Schwerin , Paulsstadt district , Alexandrinenstrasse 19/20/21 in front of the Pfaffenteich , is a monument in Schwerin . Today (2020) the Protestant vocational school and the geriatric nursing school of the Diakonie as well as the Protestant technical school for social pedagogy are in the house.
history
The three-storey, 23-axis, late-classicist office building from 1845 with a medium- sized risalit according to plans by Ludwig Bartning was used for the administration of the sovereign property ( Domanium ) in the Domanialamt Schwerin. Representative halls, offices and filing rooms were housed in the center, as well as the official apartments in the corner pavilions; in the courtyard were stables and coach houses as well as a larger garden.
The domanium of the Grand Duchy of Mecklenburg-Schwerin was the direct property of the Grand Duke and covered around 40 percent of the country. In the Schwerin part of the country, it was 5604 square kilometers, the administration of which took place here and in the 23 Domania offices in the country.
In the course of time, various facilities moved into the building. Today the vocational school of the Diakoniewerk Neues Ufer is here - Protestant geriatric nursing school and the Protestant college for social pedagogy Schwerin.
