Large caliber pistol / large caliber revolver

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Large-caliber pistol / large-caliber revolver is a discipline offered by the German Rifle Federation as part of popular sport. In this, two different time series are delivered from a static position to a target at a predetermined distance. Commercially available pistols in the calibers 9 mm Luger and .45 ACP as well as revolvers in the calibers .357 Magnum and .44 Magnum are permitted . Details on weapon restrictions, ammunition, the type of attack and the shooting program are regulated by the sports regulations of the Schützenbund.

For example, the trigger weight of the weapon must not be less than 1000 g, the magazine capacity must be at least five cartridges . Optical aiming aids are not permitted. The use of ammunition is also mandatory. Ammunition for revolvers may only be fired from them; this applies analogously to pistol ammunition.

The distance to the target is 25 meters, although it is up to the sports clubs to decide whether to use turntables or standing targets. The weapon is attacked standing freehand. The weapon may be held with both hands and you may fire from the estimate.

The program comprises 40 shots consisting of two rounds of 20 shots each, these are divided into four series of five shots each in 150 seconds. The second round consists of four series of five rounds each in 20 seconds.
