Large buy

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The large buy was a unit of mass and a measure of salt in the Austrian Salzkammergut .

The measure, including packaging, was introduced to dominate the salt market after Bohemia began using larger wooden barrels as salt packs (100 pounds) in trade. These were called hundredweight fists. The wholesale trade office with wholesalers has been in existence since 1628.
