The large stone grave Boitin is a megalithic burial complex of the Neolithic funnel cup culture near Boitin , a district of Tarnow in the Rostock district ( Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania ).

location

The grave is a few hundred meters north of Boitin in a field. 1.9 km to the northwest is a stone circle , the so-called Boitiner Stone Dance . The two large stone graves are located about 2.5 km to the southeast in the Tarnower Forest .

description

The system has so far only been listed in the scientific literature, but has not been described in detail. A more detailed investigation or excavation has not yet taken place. A huge bed or a stone enclosure cannot be made out. The burial chamber , which belongs to the large dolmen type, is still preserved . It has a well-preserved mound that originally had a roll stone packing. The chamber originally had at least three wall stones on each long side. There are still at least four of these, as well as the end stone on one narrow side. Some of these are deep in the earth. It is unclear whether the remaining wall stones are missing or completely covered with earth. The capstones, however, are completely missing.
