The Great Tunnel , commonly known as the Jungfrau Tunnel , is a 7202 meter long, single-lane, narrow-gauge railway tunnel operated by the Jungfrau Railway in Switzerland .

The tunnel leads from the at 2320 m above sea level. M. Eigergletscher station in the canton of Bern in a wide U to the underground station Jungfraujoch (3454 m above sea level) on the canton border of Bern / Valais . It was built in different stages from 1899 to 1912 and is still one of the longest of its kind.

A special feature are the intermediate stations with windows where the train stops. The Eigerwand station is located at 2866 meters in the middle of the Eiger north face , the Eismeer station at 3160 meters in a glacier area.
