The Eigergletscher station is a station on the Jungfrau Railway at 2320  m above sea level. M. Höhe on the edge of the Eiger glacier , which gave it its name. This is also where the railway's only workshop is located, where all maintenance work and revisions are carried out on the vehicles.

The station was inaugurated on September 19, 1898 by Adolf Guyer-Zeller and with a sermon on the mount by the Grindelwald “Glacier Pastor” Gottfried Strasser in front of 400 invited guests. During the 16-year construction period of the Jungfrau Railway, the Eigergletscher station was the center of the construction project. The 7.2 km long large tunnel to the Jungfraujoch begins immediately behind the station . Up to 200 employees - including around 160 Italians - were accommodated at the station during the construction period. In summer, the supply took place via the Wengernalp Railway , which was completed a few years earlier and leads to the Kleine Scheidegg , the first station of the Jungfrau Railway. In winter, however, the construction workers were cut off from the outside world and left to fend for themselves. With the commissioning of the Kleine Scheidegg - Jungfraujoch line on August 1, 1912, construction work came to an end and the station lost its village character. Only the foundation walls of the workers' barracks can be seen today. The Jungfrau Railway takes 7 minutes for the 2 km long route from Kleine Scheidegg to the Eigergletscher station.

A breeding facility for Greenland dogs operated by Jungfraubahn AG has been located at the Eiger Glacier station since 1912 . In the 2500 m² enclosure there were around 25 dogs that were looked after by three employees. The dogs were used, among other things, for tourist dog sledding rides from the Jungfraujoch. The breeding establishment was dissolved at the end of 2009 for economic reasons.

The Eigergletscher station operates the highest canteen of all railways in Europe.

The mountain station of the new V-Bahn from Grindelwald-Grund has been under construction here since summer 2018, with the option of changing to the Jungfrau Railway , which is scheduled to go into operation at the end of 2020.
