Grozny Avia (also Groznyy Avia, ( Russian Грозный Авиа )) was the national airline of the Chechen Republic within the Russian Federation , based in Grozny and based at Grozny Airport .

history

The airline was founded on August 17, 2007 by Chechen President Ramzan Akhmatovich Kadyrov . A flag carrier should be created for the autonomous republic , which has already repeatedly called for independence.

The project to buy more modern Sukhoi Superjet 100 to modernize the fleet was discontinued in 2014 for cost reasons. They are considering ordering A319 aircraft from Airbus .

With an order dated September 11, 2017, the Russian Aviation Agency revoked the flight license, which led to the permanent cessation of business activities.
