Gunabhadra

Gunabhadra (* 394 ; † 468 ) Chinese  求 那 跋陀羅  /  求 那 跋陀罗 , Pinyin Qiúnàbátuóluó , W.-G. Ch'iu-na-pa-t'o-lo was a monk of the Mahayana Buddhism of Magadha , India. He traveled by sea to China, accompanied by Gunavarma in the year 435. As honored guests, ruler Wen taught them the teachings of southern China at that time. In China, he translated one of the key texts of Mahayana Buddhism, the Lankavatara Sutra , from Sanskrit into Chinese. He continued to work as a translator and preacher.
