Guido Bach

Guido Bach (* 1828 in Annaberg ; † September 10, 1905 in London ) was a German portrait and genre painter , as well as a watercolorist .

Guido Bach studied from 1843 to 1847 at the Dresden Art Academy under Julius Hübner . He mainly dealt with watercolor painting. Guido Bach visited Italy, Bohemia and Egypt. He created portraits and pictures of Italian village life, as well as pictures of the life of North African Arabs.

From 1862 he lived in London. There he exhibited his works at the Royal Institute and the Royal Academy of Arts (1880 and 1883), as well as at the Grosvenor Gallery . His works “The Golden Age” and “Feathered Friends” found recognition at the exhibitions of the Royal Academy. In 1887 he took part in the Dresden watercolor exhibition.
