Guido Holze

Guido Holze (born October 20, 1966 in Hildesheim ) is a German musicologist and music critic .

Life

Guido Holze was born in Hildesheim and attended the Josephinum grammar school there. After graduating from high school in 1986 and then doing basic military service, Holze completed a degree in musicology and older and newer German literature from 1988 to 1993 at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main , which he completed in 1994 with a master 's degree. Holze wrote his master's thesis on the subject of “Bach's Chromatic Fantasy and Fugue. Studies on Bach's Chromatics ”.

In parallel to his university studies, Guido Holze was trained in the seminar for music criticism at Dr. Hoch's Conservatory in Frankfurt am Main trained as a music journalist.

From 1987 to 1994 Guido Holze initially wrote for the cultural section of the Hildesheimer Allgemeine Zeitung ; since 1995 he has worked for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and the FAZ Rhein-Main-Zeitung as a music critic and local journalist.

In addition to the reviews for the aforementioned and other daily newspapers, Holze published numerous articles in specialist journals, CD booklets, edited volumes and publications accompanying festivals and concerts.
