Guillaume Viltard

Guillaume Viltard (* 1975 in Ivory Coast ) is a French jazz and improvisation musician (double bass).

Viltard grew up in the north of the Cote d'Ivore; after his family returned to France, he played in the improv scene in Lyon (with Heddy Boubaker, Nusch Werchowska, Isabelle Duthoit , Alexandre Kittel , Catherine Jauniaux , Jean Pallandre , Mathias Pontévia , Etienne Brunet , Soizic Lebrat , Sébastien Coste ) and also worked with dancers and poets. In 2007 he moved to London, where he a. a. worked with Eddie Prévost , the London Improvisers Orchestra ( Lio Leo, Leon ), in a trio with Tony Marsh and Shabaka Hutchings and with François Carrier ( Shores and Ditches , 2011). In 2009 he released the solo album Running Away , followed by Lost Tracks at Dawn (Earshots! Recordings, 2014).
