Guillermo Gomez Platero
Guillermo Gómez Platero (born November 25, 1922 in Montevideo ; † January 7, 2014 there ) was a Uruguayan architect .
In 1947 he graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the Universidad de la República . 20 years later he confirmed his architect title again at the University of Buenos Aires . This was followed by postgraduate studies in France (social housing programs) and Sweden (National Urban Planning Institute). He has been a freelance architect since 1957. As part of his work, he was involved in the construction of high-rise apartment buildings in Punta del Este in the early 1980s .
His works included various shopping centers in Uruguay, such as the Montevideo Shopping Center in the Buceo district (opening 1985), Portones Shopping in Carrasco (opening 1994) or the Terminal Tres Cruces bus station with an attached shopping center in the Tres Cruces district (opening also in 1994 ). Also worth mentioning is the Torre de los Profesionales on the corner of Colonia and Yaguarón in Montevideo.
