Buceo is a district ( barrio ) of the Uruguayan capital Montevideo .

It is located in the southeast of the city on the coast of the Río de la Plata . To the west, Buceo borders the districts of Pocitos and Parque Batlle - Villa Dolores , to the north are Unión and Malvín Norte , while Malvín continues the urban area to the east .

The district is bordered to the west by Avenida Luis Alberto de Herrera , Calle Marco Bruto , a small section of Avenida General Fructuoso Rivera and Calle Demostenes and Julio Cesar . To the north, Avenida Italia runs through the district. The demarcation to the neighboring barrios is made here by the Rambla Euskalerria , the Calle Barroso and the Minnesota .
