Mercado Modelo y Bolívar is a district ( barrio ) of the Uruguayan capital Montevideo .

The barrio, made up of the Mercado Modelo and Bolívar urban areas, borders the Brazo Oriental (northwest), Cerrito de la Victoria , Castro Castellanos (north), Villa Española (east), Unión (southeast), Larrañaga and Jacinto Vera (south each) ). The area of Mercado Modelo is the municipality D assigned.

Infrastructure

In the barrio there are among other things the Hospital Policial and the Edificio Libertad and the Parque de las Estructuras . In addition, the barrio houses the Mercado Modelo, the headquarters of the country's most important trading point for fruit, vegetables and agricultural products.
