Villa Española is a district ( barrio ) of the Uruguayan capital Montevideo .

It is surrounded by the districts of Pérez Castellanos (northwest), Ituzaingó (north), Flor de Maroñas (northeast), Maroñas - Parque Guaraní (east), Unión (southeast / south) and Mercado Modelo y Bolívar (west). Starting from the southwest, clockwise, the boundaries of the district form the borderline formed by the following streets: Maria Stagnero de Munar , Brazo Largo , Avenida Damaso A. Larrañaga , Ing.José Serrato , Robinson , Juan de Garay , Camino Corrales , Dr. M. Aguirre , M de Guemes , JJ de Soiza Reilly , Pavon , Smidel , Gral C.Villegas , M de Guemes , Juan Jacobo Rousseau , Habana , Avenida 8 de Octubre , Camino Corrales , Avellaneda , 20 de Febrero , Fray M de Ubeda and Avellaneda .

The area of Villa Española is the Municipalities Municipio D and the municipality of F assigned.

Others

The barrio is the seat of the sports club Villa Española . In addition, the factory of the tire manufacturer FUNSA is located here on the Camino Corrales, which was an important venue in 1973 as part of the general strike at the beginning of the country's civil-military dictatorship (1973–1985).
