Sayago is a district ( barrio ) of the Uruguayan capital Montevideo .

location

It is surrounded by the districts of Colón Centro y Noroeste (north), Peñarol - Lavalleja (north and east), Paso de las Duranas (south / southeast), Belvedere (south / southwest), Nuevo París (west) and Conciliación (west) . The area of Sayago is the municipality G assigned.

Infrastructure

The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries ( Ministerio de Agricultura y Pesca ) is located in the Barrio.

education

The Faculty of Agriculture of the Universidad de la República is located in Sayago .

leisure

The football club Racing has been based in Sayago since 1941 and plays its home games at the Estadio Osvaldo Roberto there . The first division basketball club Club Social y Deportivo Sayago is also based here.

traffic

The barrio is of particular importance in the context of rail transport. In addition to the existing train station, the lines in Sayago cross into the western coastal region, the north of the country, and the eastern and northeastern areas of Uruguay.
