Villa Dolores is a district ( barrio ) of the Uruguayan capital Montevideo .

The district listed on the official map of the Uruguayan Statistics Institute together with the Barrio Parque Batlle is made up of the districts Tres Cruces (west and northwest), La Blanqueada (north), Unión (north), Buceo (east) and Pocitos (south) surround. The boundaries are formed by the Avenida F. Rivera to the south and west of the Bulevar Artigas and the Avenida Italia . The latter in turn also represents the boundary to the north, while in the northeast the Bulevar Batlle y Ordonez serves as a dividing line. The area of Villa Dolores is thatAssigned to Municipio CH .

The Barrio Villa Dolores is named in honor of Dolores Pereira de Rossell , who together with her husband Alejo Rossell y Rius donated the property after her death on March 14, 1919, which is now one of the two, the Parque Zoológico Dolores Pereira de Rossel zoological gardens of the Intendencia Municipal de Montevideo and the municipal planetarium are housed. The former, located on Avenida Rivera, is home to around 550 species of animals from all over the world and 300 different flowers, shrubs and trees.
